Some studies have observed lower self-reported anxiety in situations like waiting for medical procedures after listening to binaural beats.
That said, honesty matters: the studies vary in size and quality, individual responses differ, and researchers are careful not to overstate the effect. Part of the benefit may also come from something simple and real — the act of pausing, putting on headphones, and breathing through a calm audio environment is itself a stress-reducing ritual, regardless of the entrainment debate.

How to use binaural beats to calm down
1. Use headphones and keep it low
The binaural effect needs a separate tone in each ear, so headphones are required. Keep the volume gentle — this is background support, not something to focus on.
